As a result of Usage a ordinary antenna clamp at the backstay your "backstay-antenna" will be absolutley missmatched. Poor receiving will occour.
Transmission without destroying your transceiver is nearly impossible, even a antenna tuner will refuse to match this "antenna".
This transformer is transmission capable with a loading capacity of 300 Watts SSB and has been specifically designed for use on Sailing Yachts. The transformer is used to convert between high ohm long wire antennas and low ohm coaxial cable, so you won't have poor signals anymore.
